Building on success at Sherborne Tennis Club

Sherborne Tennis Club are very supportive of their junior members with a target in the clubs five-year-plan to increase the junior membership to 175 by 2007. At present we have passed the 250 mark and we are still growing, with new junior players coming on through the mini red tennis scheme.

LTA Tournaments

Mini Red Tennis is being coached at the Gryphon and the Club. The minimum age for the child to partake is 4 years.

Most juniors up to the age of 10 will join as Mini Tennis members. Once they are able to play with proper tennis balls they will join as Full Tennis Junior members. As they improve further, they will be invited to become Senior/Juniors, which offer all the playing benefits of full adult membership.

Junior membership and coaching scholarships are awarded each year.

Junior members can use the courts free of charge throughout the year, so long as there are not adult members wanting to use them. Their parents may play with them free of charge too, even if they are not members of the club.

Sherborne Tennis Club offers all of its junior members the opportunity to play some comptitive tennis.
